I'm passionate about houses that feel like homes 

I inherited my home organization sensibilities & spazaz from my grandmother, Rose Belenkie.

She was years ahead of her time. If she was alive today, she'd be a world famous home organization expert!

During the 1920's and 30's depression, my grandparents almost didn't qualify for much needed financial assistance.

Why?

The case worker felt the living room was too nice! 

Rose was proud of that compliment. In a strong Russian accent she explained with a smile: "The furniture was garbage. Vicker. But I made the room look nice. Even the vicker looked good."

It goes to show that a well organized room can look better than you'd ever expect, no matter what furniture you have.

By the time I came along, my grandparents had a beautiful row house on Jeanne Mance St in Montreal. 

As a child I loved going there.

A large porch in front of the house for people to chat and have refreshments. A shaded balcony at the back of the house too. Big rooms with hardwood floors and super high ceilings. My grandfather's weekly card game with "the boys" in the huge kitchen. Sky light in the main upstairs bathroom (this was in the pre-ensuite era.) Sliding doors hidden in the walls between the living and dining room. Etched glass in the hall-facing living room doors. 

And the living room? Well, you can imagine what my Bubby* did when she had some money! To be in that room was to luxuriate.

These fond childhood experiences began my life long fascination with organizing a house to feel like a home.

A major downsizing pulls it all together

Now, do you think my first career had anything to do with houses?

Of course not! 

I worked in IT as a software developer and business analyst for over 25 years.

It was OK. I developed expertise in organization and systems.

It was a living. But, it was never my thing.

In 2022, after going through a major downsizing of my own, I pulled together my passion for home organizing and organization/system experience into Organize My Stuff.

I love being a home organizer  

A project starts with a mess and ends with joy.

I love going into a cluttered home and helping people figure out where to put things away, which furniture to shift, and what, if anything, to let go of.

"Putting things away" doesn't sound glamorous. 

But, the impact of helping people make good choices here changes lives.

I've seen it first hand.
